As a technical director and producer who has transitioned into an office coordinator, I bring a unique skill set that combines strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and out-of-the-box thinking, combined with a joyous but relentless work ethic. I firmly believe my theater skills will help me thrive as an executive assistant.
In my previous role as Technical Director and Producer, I thrived in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. I honed my organizational skills by managing globetrotting tours and budgets, scheduling employees and producing festivals, all the while ensuring the smooth running of artistic productions. This experience taught me how to pay attention to the details while keeping an eye on the big picture.
I have an MFA in ensemble-based physical theater, meaning I have strong interpersonal skills and am well-versed in group dynamics. I have worked effectively with diverse teams of varying sizes to achieve a common goal. My communication, listening, and critical thinking skills were essential for these collaborations. I strived to maintain a safe space with an atmosphere of exploration, discovery, and laughter.
When the curtain rises, everything must look like it is going according to plan. I have had to think on my feet and come up with creative solutions to problems on the fly, often in front of a live audience. This involves keeping my cool under pressure and reacting quickly and efficiently. I don’t always have the answer, but I have no problem asking someone who does.
I am confident that I have the skills and experience necessary to be a successful executive assistant. I am a highly motivated, results-oriented individual who is always willing to go the extra mile. My passion for theater stems from its ability to enrich lives and foster community. This passion translates directly to my desire to work for a non-profit organization like the OHSU Foundation, which has a similar mission.
