I started at Besse lumber company when I was 19. I started off piling lumber then shortly moving up to running a bandsaw and headsaw. Learning what was inside of a log I wanted to continue to learn so I advanced to the log yard. Where I learned my log species, log grading rules and how to scale logs. There I became familiar with log handheld systems. Eventually becoming the log yard supervisor. Which gave me experience with coordinating trucking and coordinating wood flow in and out of the yard. Which landed me buying veneer logs at Ike. Where I learned about veneer logs and grading and scaling walnut. I've been looking at logs in some shape or form for the last 17 years and I'm fairly young and motivated. I'm always looking to learn more and advance.
