• I learned and maintained proficiency in first responder skills such as Lifesaving, CPR and First Aid to offer individuals in distress optimal support.
• I ensured swimmer safety by diligently monitoring my areas at Coney Island Beach and enforcing rules.
• I responded to emergency situations in a timely, efficient manner and assisted swimmers in distress using appropriate rescue techniques.

I became year-round Lieutenant LG in October 1990 and have supervised lifeguard staffs at all of the Recreation Centers with pools in Manhattan, Brooklyn and St. Mary’s in Bronx. I’ve also supervised staffs at many outdoor pools including Lasker, Hamilton Fish Asser Levy and John Jay Pools.

• I’ve been the Chief Lifeguard at Astoria Pool since 2008 and I’ve supervised one of the largest lifeguard staffs in Parks.
• I’ve trained and managed teams of lifeguards on pool safety and risk management protocols.
• I provide swimmer safety by having staff enforce pool rules and regulations consistently.
• I cooperate fully with Recreation Center Managers to identify areas of concern according to the Safety Plan.
• I regularly communicate with other divisions of Parks and NYPD to ensure an effective balance of responsibility.
