To Whom It May Concern,
I am seeking an overhead electrical lineman position or apprenticeship with a chance to grow with a diverse and quality company that stresses good service and safety. My goal is to become a career lineman. The work excites me and I believe I would be very successful at it.
I graduated from Southeast Lineman Training Center’s (SLTC) Electrical Lineman Program in Trenton, Georgia, in April 2022. The training included electrical theory and emphasis on climbing, pole setting, line construction and safety.
I am currently employed as an Aerial Line Technician at Five Star Energies, in Stoughton, Wisconsin. My job includes installing aerial fiber optic cable as part of a team, using bucket trucks, placer trucks and pole climbing. I enjoy climbing and am considered quite good at it. While I enjoy the work at Five Star, it does not meet my career goal of being a lineman in the electric power industry.
Prior to the job at Five Star, I worked for Push, Inc., in Rice Lake, Wisconsin as a laborer in a crew installing telecommunication underground fiber optic cable. We worked a contract job in Glasgow, Montana for three months. Following the conclusion of the Montana work, I decided to accept the position at Five Star to get closer to my goal of working as an overhead lineman.
As you can see in the attached resume, I have worked at several challenging and potentially dangerous jobs and have always considered safety and quality of my work to be paramount. I enjoy the outdoors, as well as hard work and have lots of experience in hot, cold, wet, and dirty environments. I am in very good physical shape. In addition to my outdoor work experience, I've walked the entire 2200 miles of the Appalachian Trail.
I have traveled much of the country and would be comfortable working just about anywhere, but I am particularly interested in the southeast (I have family in the Savannah and Atlanta areas,) and the southwest (having enjoyed some great hiking in Arizona.)
I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
