I am an enthusiastic candidate eager to demonstrate my skill sets behind the scenes of the agricultural industry to help promote and orchestrate ideologies that are beneficial to producers and consumers alike.
Utilizing efficient communication and time management skills is essential during my time at USMARC. Some of my regular responsibilities include management of the finishing barns, and the shop. This includes daily upkeep of animals and facilities. In order to do so, there must be disciplined time management and organizational skills. Being the shop manager also entails general upkeep of the other barns, in order to do this efficiently communication is highly stressed.
This is strictly volunteer work. Utilizing key ideas, group organization, and relationship building in order to run a not-for-profit organization in a small town. The job entails planning the yearly town days, as well as various other fundraisers, and hosting other events throughout the year. In order to do so; personable skills and being relatable are crucial to successful fundraising. Planning and coordinating large events, extensive decision making, advertising, and spearheading change are the regular tasks.
Working on a diversified family farm producing livestock: seed stock cattle, commercial cattle, bull and heifer development and backgrounding calves, as well as farming: corn, alfalfa and soybean production requires deep critical thinking and communication skills. Communication with vets, and various other professionals and groups within the beef industry. Organizational skills for record keeping was a key focus.
Following of safety based protocols to ensure animal and person safety, and helping train interns with proper horse and cow handling safety. Organization of record keeping with feed, health, and various other items. Worked with pharmaceutical vendors, and communicated with various other professionals, such as nutritionists and vets. Overseeing daily husbandry for cattle and horses.
