I began gaining hands-on work experience at the age of 13 by working alongside my father in his landscaping and hardscaping business, where I worked for over 6 years. While attending school, I worked after school, on weekends, and on some school days, gaining experience in physically demanding, hands-on environments. Through this work, I developed a strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail, and experience with hand tools, power tools, materials, equipment, and jobsite safety. I gained experience with landscaping, hardscaping, material handling, and general construction while working in Arizona's extreme heat and demanding outdoor conditions. I also trained two other workers, which strengthened my ability to communicate instructions, demonstrate tasks, and work effectively with others.
Since then, I have continued building my skills through positions in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, and material handling. I have experience operating forklifts, EPJs, pallet jacks, electric saws, and other equipment while safely moving and organizing materials. In addition to my work experience, I earned my Associate of Applied Science degree in Psychology while continuing to work and attend school. Balancing work and school taught me how to manage my time, stay committed to my responsibilities, and work toward long-term goals. I am looking to bring my hands-on experience into the electrical trade, learn from experienced electricians, and build a long-term career as an electrician.
