At First choice I was tasked with inspecting vehicles purchased from the local car auctions and seeing what repairs may be needed or if they vehicle needed to be returned to the auction. I did electrical, A/C, and brake system diagnostics. I also swapped engines, transmission, rear ends, as well as many other components of the vehicles. When needed I would repair cylinder head issues and timing chain issues.

In the Marines I was a crewman and technician on amphibious assault vehicles. I went on to become Platoon Maintenance Chief. I was tasked with supervising the preventive maintenance and repairs that were needed on the vehicles. I over saw the work of my technician under my leadership. The diagnosis ranged from electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical. These vehicles were equipped with a tracks system instead of wheels and had a PTO powered water propulsion system that I had to become well versed in maintaining. After noticing and coming up with a solution for repair of a blower exhaust system that had gone unrepaired in the whole Battalion I was the put in charge of the upkeep of the upgun weapons systems for the whole Battalion. I later received a Navy Achievement Medal for keep the vehicles at 100% readiness during an combined arms exercise in Norway.
