Summary

My mission as Head Varsity Football Coach at Nevada Union High School is to rebuild NU football through discipline, mentality, effort, accountability, and an education first mindset. I am committed to developing young men into strong students, athletes, and community members. My focus is simple: build a program that plays hard, plays smart, and represents Nevada Union with pride. Through consistent standards and coaching development. My coaching career has always been tied to Nevada Union, and I’m committed to developing student-athletes in the classroom, on the field, and in the community.

Offensive Philosophy

  • Wing-T
  • Deception- “You make one guy miss, that's a great job. Now if you make two miss, that's a touchdown!”
  • Backfield speed- Completely knowing your assignment, tight mesh.
  • Angles- Use smaller athletes to trap larger athletes.
  • Aggression- Blocking to the whistle, “be the hammer not the nail”.

Defensive Philosophy

“Give them nothing but take from them everything.” (300, King Leonidas)


  • 4–2–5 / 4–6 Bear Hybrid.
  • Simple- Confident players play fast, Fast players win games.
  • Spill- D- Line spills the play out, SS Force the play in the ally, FS and MLB Cleans up the ally
  • Pursuit- All eleven players fly to the ball
  • ASKA- Alignment, Stance, Keys, Assignments

Special Teams Philosophy

  • “Treat special teams like a weapon to win hidden yards”.
  • Smart- Keep it away from their athletes.
  • Heart- The one that try’s the hardest will make the play.

Culture Standards (Players & Staff)

  • Education First- Players and Coach's will put Students academics first.
  • Discipline- Players and Coach's will show discipline in showing up on time and doing everything to their fullest ability.
  • Mentality- Everything in life is 80% mentality, so Players and Coach's alike will have a positive attitude while facing adversity. "The hardest thing anyone has been through, is the hardest thing they have done"
  • Effort- Is the Key to success, Players and Coach's will give full effort to everything they do on and off the field.
  • Accountability- Players and Coach's will face their mistakes and admit to their wrong doings, not blame other's.
  • Community- Players and Coach's will represent Nevada Union at all times on and off the field, opening doors, helping the elderly with groceries at the store. Nevada Union Football will be known through out the community for their respect.

Coaching Philosophy

  • Stay coachable; never stop learning.
  • Coach the coaches so they can coach the players.
  • Keep the program simple, disciplined, and consistent.
  • Have fun, if your having fun, the players will have fun and the wins will fallow.
