For the past 11 years while working full time I have also done independent finish carpentry work. In 2018 I began renting a shop space for my freelance work. I measure, estimate, draft, fabricate, finish and install my freelance work.

When I began working at Huber Cabinet I joined Chicago carpenters local 1027 millwork union. Carpenters local 1027 has a four year apprenticeship program, I was able to enter the union as a journeyman and skip the apprenticeship as a result of my experience. At Huber we construct commercial interiors typically in downtown Chicago.

While working at Rose cabinets I worked on projects individually- meaning I began the project during the design process and saw the project through each phase of construction and installation. Here I drafted using Autocad and Sketchup for our more complex projects that required a more elaborate design process than a standard project. Our clientele at Rose was the upper class.
