As a Mortuary Practicum Student, my duties included:

• Assembling cremation boxes.
• Sterilizing embalming instruments and tables
• Auto maintenance
• Handling decedent transfers
• Overseeing visitations and memorial services.
• Helping out with the necessary chores that come with working in a mortuary setting.

As a System Status Controller, my work duties included:

• Allocating the appropriate EMS resources as the need arose by applying the appropriate decision-making rules and approved protocols.
• Answering 911 emergency and non-emergency telephone calls from the public and various healthcare facilities.
• Using two-way radio communications to dispatch calls and coordinate appropriate resources.
• Assisted in locating incident scenes by selecting the safest, fastest route to such scenes by using the available locator aids

As a Communications Specialist, my duties included:

• Handling incoming requests for urgent medical helicopter transports.
• Activating flight teams as necessary.
• Maintaining radio communications with flight crews during flight operations and conducted flight following activities while transport teams were airborne.
• Training newly hired communications center employees.

As a 9-1-1 dispatcher, my duties included:

• Handling emergency and non-emergency telephone inquiries/requests from the public.
• Maintaining radio communications with field personnel regarding calls for service, item/subject checks, etc.
• Troubleshooting and maintaining radio communications and telephone equipment.
• Submitting RFP’s to procure radio equipment (including two-way radio consoles, mobile radios, and portable radios).
• Between 2007-2008, I briefly held a supervisory position, and led a team of six dispatchers.
