Volunteering with youth sports programs as a coach

Strong academic background in U.S. history, world history, civics, and geography, with a commitment to fostering critical thinking, civic engagement, and inclusive classroom environments. Served as New Member Educator for Sigma Tau Gamma, instructing new members on fraternity ethics, values, history, leadership expectations, and accountability. Additionally volunteered with YMCA Challenger, supporting children with special needs in sports and recreational activities, reinforcing patience, adaptability, and inclusive instructional practices. I am prepared to support diverse student populations in the Kansas City metropolitan area through mentorship, structured instruction, and student-centered learning.
For my fraternity Sigma Tau Gamma we would hold classes at the end of the chapter meetings for our new members. I would teach the new members about our fraternity, our bylaws, colors, and all of the important information they must know about our fraternity. I had the responsibility to build assignments, and quizzes for the new members to take each week.
YMCA challenger is where i learned that i wanted to be a educator. I would go twice a week and hang out with kids who have disabilities. We would play all kinds of sports together for a hour out of the day. Helping these kids is what made me open my eyes to being an educator.
