Responsibilities & Key Tasks:
• Operate closed-loop hydrocarbon extraction systems using butane to produce high-quality concentrates, including live resin and crude oil.
• Perform color remediation chromatography (CRC) cycles to refine extracts and produce pure isolate.
• Process both fresh frozen biomass for live BHO and dry-cured trim for crude oil extractions, adjusting methods to meet production quotas and product demand.
• Safely handle, monitor, and maintain operations in a C1/D1 rated lab using spark-resistant tools and following OSHA, state, and internal safety protocols.
OSHA-certified and respirator-fitted for safe handling of hydrocarbon solvents in a C1/D1 extraction environment.
• Operate and maintain rotary evaporators for solvent recovery and purification of cannabis concentrates.
• Formulate distillate and terpene blends for vaporizer cartridges, ensuring consistency, flavor accuracy, and product quality.
• Record, track, and maintain detailed logs of batch data, extraction parameters, yields, and compliance records in accordance with state regulatory requirements.
• Conduct daily system checks, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth lab operations.
Performed safe transfilling of butane between storage tanks and closed-loop extraction systems to maintain full solvent recovery and minimize loss.
• Monitored pressure, temperature, and system integrity to ensure 100% solvent recovery and compliance with lab safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members to meet monthly production quotas and optimize extraction efficiency.
• Maintain strict adherence to GMP and cleanroom standards, including sanitation and contamination prevention.
Perform ice water hash extraction from fresh frozen cannabis material, carefully separating trichome heads using agitation, filtration, and micron bags.
Performed post-processing of bubble hash, including drying, sifting, and quality grading to ensure optimal purity and consistency.
• Weighed, portioned, and bagged hash into micron filter bags for rosin pressing, ensuring proper size selection and uniformity for consistent yields.
• Operate and maintain rosin presses to produce solventless concentrates, adjusting pressure, heat, and filtration for optimal yield and terpene preservation.
• Manage freeze dryers to cure hash properly, ensuring moisture content and terpene retention meet quality standards.
• Maintain strict control of temperature, humidity, and contamination risks throughout solventless processes.
• Document extraction parameters, yields, and quality metrics for compliance and batch tracking.
• Evaluate starting material quality and determine the best processing methods to maximize potency, flavor, and appearance.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain all extraction equipment in compliance with GMP and state regulations.
• Collaborate with production teams to meet daily/weekly quotas while maintaining consistency and product excellence.
• Assist with post-processing techniques such as cold curing, jar tech, and rosin whipping to achieve desired textures and consistencies.
• Uphold strict safety protocols and cleanroom standards in a regulated lab environment.
Work in temperature-controlled environments in order to ensure the preservation of material while processing. (-9 degrees Fahrenheit to 35 degrees Fahrenheit)
Conduct winterization processes to remove lipids, waxes, and impurities from crude extracts, improving clarity and purity of concentrates.
• Utilize ethanol and controlled chilling methods to separate and filter fats/waxes prior to distillation or formulation.
• Operate and maintain filtration equipment and vacuum systems during winterization to ensure efficient solvent recovery and product refinement.
