  • Perform/take on any level of technical capability in the shop where needed whether it be oil changes to diagnostics, while but not limited to during another technician's vacation, shop backed up with vehicles that technicians can't get to right away, or when another technician needs assistance servicing a vehicle.
  • Check in parts, post, and facilitate to the proper technician. Keep track of and return unused parts as needed. File all parts receipts until the end of the day and attach with EOD paperwork.
  • Ensure proper workflow of the shop and vehicles being serviced are not only handed to the corresponding technician, but also make sure the workflow is spread evenly amongst the technicians.
  • Monthly Check up of all loaner vehicles with inspections being forwarded to asset management and any work needing to be done be approved prior to servicing. Also keep track of all shop equipment and servicing. If a piece of equipment in the shop cannot be serviced or repaired and requires further assistance contact management.
  • Weekly Inventory counts including but not limited to all bulk fluid products 'orders must be placed bi weekly with enough product ordered to last until the next order date', All stock/inventory items (oil filters, engine air filters, cabin air filters, light bulbs, washer fluid, etc) restocking as needed and making sure the shelves do not go empty. Keep track of inventory for shop equipment and order where needed (wheel weights for balancer whether they be stick on or hammer on, pig mats, hand soap, etc).
  • Go over vehicle inspections with technicians ensuring recommended service is going to properly repair and maintain customer vehicles, after going over inspection price the recommended jobs accordingly, notate any notes in R.O as needed, and pass the vehicles inspection on to the corresponding service writer with updated r.o and recommendations. Order parts as needed to complete any job that is upsold to the customer in a timely manner.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the shop daily but especially when slow.
  • Answer phone calls, set online and over the phone appointments as they come through, assist the manager and or assistant when needed on the front counter whether it be during somebody's day off or when one has to step out for a moment. Reciprocate anything relative to the shop or customers vehicle to a team member of management.
  • Any vehicle that comes back with an issue regarding a recent repair is inspected properly and a solution is put in place to take care of the customer and their vehicle while corresponding with a member of management to ensure a proper correction is made if needed.
  • Train any incoming new hires to stores location or as requested by upper management for another location the proper way, starting off with setting/racking a vehicle properly to a 2 post vehicle lift, then signing off said technician on the full courtesy inspection we offer with every vehicle service. If technician level is more advanced than general service help technician get acclimated to stores equipment and proper use of said equipment.
  • Road test's vehicles where needed and puts a plan in place to ensure a minimization of comebacks to the store.
