Effectively command large-scale incidents, ensuring community and responder safety, minimizing property loss, and ensuring government and business continuity

  • Operational and financial oversight of the BLS Ambulance Operator program increasing retention, accountability and revenue
  • Serve as the liaison to the Long Beach Airport strategically collaborating with Airport Officials, producing a new ARRF Unit and a successful increase in annual revenue to the Fire Department
  • Assigned by the Fire Chief to implement Implicit Bias community wellness training department-wide to advance the city’s Racial Equity Initiatives and Racial Equity Action Plan
  • Designed and implemented the department’s Radio Communications Program in collaboration with the city’s Technology and Innovation division for wireless upgrades and an increase in service, and established check in meetings
  • Partner with Public Works to manage the execution of multi-million-dollar fire facility capital improvement projects
  • Collaborate with county and city stakeholders to coordinate and combat poverty and homelessness in the surrounding Long Beach area
  • Supervise and manage the city-wide Incident Management Team interfacing with Police, Health, and Disaster Preparedness Departments
  • Serve as the liaison to the city’s Emergency Operations Center - to ensure timely execution of disaster preparedness plans and an effective Dispatch Operations Center
  • Maintained a culturally competent and motivated workforce, with an emphasis on first-line supervisors, performance evaluation, counseling, training, and managing employee performance improvement action plans
  • Reviewed reports and investigate complaints to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including department policies, rules, and procedures
  • Ensured Homeland Security Grant goals are met and anticipate the resources required for the department to meet organizational goals
