I have a deep appreciation for both outdoor adventures and cozy moments at home. Whether it be hiking, camping, hunting, or fishing, I love exploring nature with friends and family. I’m also a fan of all types of games—video games, card games, board games—and I enjoy immersing myself in a great story.
Boy Scouts – I was an avid member of my local Boy Scout troop as a young boy. I loved earning merit badges, helping my community, and learning many valuable skills along the way. I received the title of Eagle Scout in December 2014 after helping finish a construction project; the ceiling on the depot building used by the Utah County Sheriff’s Jeep Patrol(also known as Search and Rescue or VIPS: Volunteers in Police Service). Participating in Boy Scouts gave me the moral foundation and motivation to pursue a life full of learning and constant self-improvement.
NYLT– National Youth Leadership Training. Attending this camp taught me what it means to be a good leader. I learned how to set SMART goals, and various strategies for accomplishing those goals. I enjoyed the program so much that I volunteered the year after I attended. As a volunteer, I put the skills I learned from the program to good use by leading my own group of boy scouts through the various exercises and lessons to teach them those same skills. The best way to learn something is to teach it to your peers.
