Medical College of Georgia Corrections Division, 10/2006 - Present, Collectively with a team of three physicians and four mid-level clinicians, provide medical care and screening at a maximum security facility for a large population which must be classified, diagnosed, treated, and processed though the largest of three diagnostic prisons in the state of Georgia. Provide medical care, which includes intake history and physical examinations, assessment of medical conditions, diagnosis of new conditions, initiating new treatment plans, and providing counseling for prevention and management of diseases. Provide emergent care and stabilize patients, which commonly include but not limited to, evaluation and treatment of acute chest pain, hypertensive urgencies and emergencies, seizures, respiratory distress, drug overdoses, lacerations, musculoskeletal injuries, and acute surgical emergencies. Make initial assessments and plans, which are presented to physicians for further evaluation and approval.
