Beyond the classroom, I held leadership positions in student government and various clubs and served as a news reporter for the student newspaper.
From January to May 1991, I studied abroad at the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome, Italy, under the auspices of Stanford University. My coursework included Latin and Greek literature, Roman history, and archaeology.
