Marine Corps Infantrymen

United States Marine Corps
Camp Pendleton, CA
06.2020 - 06.2024

I am writing to apply for the position of Patrol Officer with the Chubbuck Police Department. As a highly motivated member of the United States Marine Corps, I am confident that I possess the qualifications you seek in a candidate, valuing many of the same qualities, such as teamwork, empathy, and self-discipline.
In my four years of experience specializing in infantry ground forces, I have developed many leadership skills. During this time, I consistently demonstrated commitment and pride in the service and protection of my country. I have excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond to a variety of situations. I am also highly adept at establishing a rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
While my role with the Marine Corps requires mental toughness, physical fitness, and tactical abilities, I trained in close combat situations that were conducted through amphibious landings, as well as land-based maneuvers, operating weapons such as an M27 rifle, an M320 grenade launcher, a SMAW rocket launcher, an M18 pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun, a .50 cal sniper, an M240B machine gun, a .50 cal machine gun, a Mk 19 machine gun, and a 60mm mortar system. My job titles are an 0311 Infantry Rifleman and an 0331 Machine Gunner.
In addition to my experience, I have earned individual awards, ribbons, and medals: the National Defense Service Medal, a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. I have deployed overseas twice and have been to multiple countries helping in patrolling for enemy threats to humanitarian relief. I am confident that I could make a valuable contribution to your department, and I am eager to discuss my qualifications in more detail. I am available for an oral interview at your convenience, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely, Antonio Coby
