My near decade of experience and success in this particular industry, positions me to be the ideal candidate for this position. Along with my managerial experience in fast paced environments, the unique set of skills that I have acquired selling pre-owned goods set me apart from any other candidates for this position.
For eight years I have been the sole proprietor of an operation, whose primary function is the purchase and resell of used goods. In that time I have sold over 40,000 pairs of pre-owned shoes, while generating over $1,000,000 in revenue, and have gained an extensive knowledge of reselling markets. I now have a near instinctual feel for what drives the sale of secondhand goods. Throughout the decade, I have consistently ranked among the largest individual sellers of pre-owned footwear on any online platform.
In this time I have personally handled every aspect of day-to-day operations including:
During my time as a contracted writer for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, I was initially tasked with covering individual High-School football games. After only a month working with the company, I was given the responsibility of covering non-local NFL match-ups. My writing served as the only non-local NFL coverage for one of the largest syndicated newspapers in the nation. I was tasked with writing a full-page Super Bowl spread with only six months of professional writing experience. Although I consider myself a natural and talented writer, after two seasons working with the newspaper I opted to turn my attention to my entrepreneurial pursuits. I maintain contacts and have a positive relationship with the company to this day.
As a line cook, I was constantly asked to perform in high-pressure, fast paced situation. Every order was expected to be prepared and sent out in under 10 minutes, no matter the volume of customers. I excelled in this job and was awarded the title of 'Skill Trainer' only months into my tenure. I was expected to train new employees at my position and expected to be a commanding voice within the kitchen team. I left this job to pursue the work that I am currently involved in.
My introduction to work was in a high-stress, fast-paced environment that would influence my work ethic in all future endeavors. After exceeding as an entry level employee, I was given the responsibility of a shift manager. I was a leading voice and highly effective manager. I would consistently hit company goals and was heavily relied on as a constant within a company that saw a tremendous amount of turnover.
I am active, enthusiastic and always eager to learn new things. At the moment I am invested in language learning and hold a strong interest in the fields of behavioral economics and phycology.
