Duties and Responsibilities:
FireGuard Analysts will assess and process data from multiple sources on suspected wildfires to provide near-real-time wildfire information (e.g. location, time, and approximate severity) to federal and state wildfire agencies through the regional Geographic Area Coordination Centers in support of CMD domestic operations throughout the entirety of the country on a 24/7 and On-Call basis. FireGuard Analysts work under the guidance of the FireGuard Lead Analysts and Leadership Team, who will provide objectives and the scope of assignments. FireGuard Analysts are expected to independently perform primary duties effectively, work as team members, and exercise initiative without immediate supervision. In addition, FireGuard Analysts must have a sound fundamental understanding of the intelligence process/cycle and how to incorporate available intelligence systems. FireGuard Analysts leverage traditional military intelligence competencies, interagency support, and situational experience to assist the state and federal firefighting effort in California. During the California wildfire season, FireGuard Analysts will be scheduled to work so as to provide 24-hour coverage, seven days per week and are considered essential personnel.
