
Applied decorative painting, glazing and faux finishing light or heavy painting techniques. Operate and maintain machinery such as compressors, paint pots, and spray guns. Experienced in many forms and techniques of sandblasting used for surface prepping and restoration. Knowledgeable in selecting and operating various blasting media and equipment to remove rust, paint, corrosion, scale, and other contaminants from metal and other surfaces. Skilled in adjusting pressure, media type, and blasting methods to achieve proper surface profiles for coating, refinishing, or repair. Familiar with safety procedures, equipment maintenance, and environmental practices to ensure efficient and safe sandblasting operations in industrial, automotive, and repair environments. Able to properly handle hazardous materials. Train new and current employees in different aspects of painting and painting methods. Able to mix finish and preservative coats. Prepare surfaces by shaping, filling, smoothing and using repair materials such as putty, glazes and other necessary materials. Paint removal including sandblasting, wet and dry sanding of surfaces and with power sanding tools and ability to mask areas with tape. Ability to mix and match paint as well as apply paint with spray guns to metal surfaces. Read and understand plans and color qualitfications.
