I work as an assistant Airbnb host for Kohala Rentals owned by my mother. My role in this job is to Manage reservations and to communicate with guests during their stay.

From time to time, i would also be given the responsibility to clean and prepare the rooms for future guests.

Over the years, i have demonstrated great communication and service abilities and learned a fair amount of what it takes to maintain property.

Maguro Spot is a family-owned poke restaurant located in Waikiki. Every shift, the kitchen was run by three to four other people.

There are three to four positions in the shop that each person is assigned to. One person at the register, another behind the register worker, filling up rice, another making the orders at the fish station, and one last person in the back, doing all the prep work, dishes, etc. Throughout the shift, the workers are free to switch positions with another person if they know how to perform the task. On a busy day, we managed to serve about 200-300 orders.

Throughout my days working here, I learned how to carry out all of these tasks.

In the time that I worked there, I was fortunate enough to learn numerous essential things about how to run a shop.

Below are a few things I was able to demonstrate

  • Assisted with in-store operations by disassembling delivery boxes, cleaning floors, and dishwashing.
  • Explained menu items and suggested appropriate options for food allergy concerns.
