I was tasked with efficiently acting as the face of Costco by greeting members professionally and politely. All the while making them feel welcomed and comfortable, and being friendly with anyone that enters the store.

I was saddled with the responsibility of making sure that purchases were accurately processed by scanning items, boxing them if requested or required, collecting the final payment, and inspecting identification for age-restricted products such as alcohol and tobacco.

I was required to stay educated on the products or items sold at Costco since customers often have queries regarding products or services.

I had to be able to address these questions in an informed way and also provide the correct answer to customers.

To efficiently perform my duties as a Costco front-end assistant, I had to possess certain important skills and qualities.

These include excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and good teamwork skills; strong mathematical skills, excellent time management skills, and good physical strength and stamina.

Also required were good customer service, listening, and organizational skills.

As a vault clerk my duties were to tally receipts from currency, checks, debit cards, credit cards, gift certificates, and all other forms of payment. I would prepare bank deposits and ensure security of funds in vault. Answer phones and provide member service.

Maintain log of stamps issued. Process money bleeds: count and keys cash drops into automated Vault/Sales Audit (SA) computer system, key in check drop totals sent to the vault by cashiers. Issue cash register fund increases. Sell change from the safe fund to supervisors. Order change from the bank for the safe fund Verify safe fund at start and end of shift. Prepare bank deposit of checks and cash Keys deposit slips into Vault/Sales Audit system. Forward deposit slips and payment documents to Sales Audit Clerk. Process checks returned unpaid by bank Documents, enter into computer, collect funds, deposits funds collected. • Follow safety and security procedures. Open manual combination or keypad safes. Issues and checks in tills daily. Monitor funds in vault, locking in safes when leaving vault room. Record and monitors entry and exit of personnel in vault. • Pull plastic sleeves containing monies from air tube bullets sent by cashiers or receives sleeves picked up manually by a manager. Sort sleeves by payment type and by register.
