I taught at Tuckaseegee Elementary in CMS for 10 years including grades 1st and 3rd. I then moved to Lowell Elementary and taught 5th grade for 12 years. During my time at Lowell, I received the honor of being recognized as Oustanding Elementary Mathematics Teacher by NCCTM in 2007 and being named as Gaston County's Teacher of the Year in 2008. I tranisitoned to middle school so that I could focus on my love for math instruction. I taught at Grier Middle for 3 years and have been at Holbrook Middle for the past 4 years. I have learned and grown so much as I have tranisitioned to each new school. I am also very proud of the grant awards that I have received over the past several years. This year I was awarded the Ron L. Ensley Grant to complete a math project with my students. I have enjoyed a very successful career and have seen tremendous growth in my students as can be supported by released EOG data. I love my job and love to see students achieve those "aha" moments.
