Creation of SOPs Project (August - September 2022) - Colleen Lorei, my manager, asked me to create two SOPs for the Labor department. I created the Arbitration SOP and the Grievance Hearing Notice SOP. They are used by the Labor team to ensure the proper procedures are followed regarding arbitration and grievances.
Hearing Checklist Project (November 2022) - Colleen Lorei, manager of Labor Relations, asked me to create a hearing checklist. I worked with Rhonda Slyvester regarding the steps as she directly works with the discipline process. I created 3 different hearing checklists for AWOLS, PREVENTABLES and ATTENDANCE. The packets were approved by the Labor Relations Manager Colleen Lorei and the Director of Labor Relations, Tommy Bossaller. These are used as a checklist to ensure that the MV team does not miss a step in the hearing process as well as ensure that the company follows the contract that we hold with the Union(ATU).
Preventable Accident Project (November 2022 - December 2022) This project was to analyze preventable incident paperwork and involved over 500 incidents to review. Our process was to confirm the validity of the incidents and confirm if the company followed the correct process and procedure. Rhonda Slyvester, Melissa Blazek and I are working on this. I created a tracker to organize the date we were finding. I sent updates to Darrin Hoover, Colleen Lorei and Monique Alovoz on our progress. Currently the tracker holds 252 names and information regarding each individual case. This tracker is updated by myself weekly. During this project, I spent time at the Union Hall going through files and documents and analyzing all the data I found.
Union Communications (October 2022 - Current) All communication regarding disciplines, grievances or general information needed is sent by me to the ATU. I review all documentation and confirm its validity by checking the CBA and the MV Handbook to confirm the company is following policy. Once all the documentation has been checked and confirmed, I get confirmation from Colleen Lorei, Labor Relations Manager. Once that is received, I draft the emails to the ATU and then send. My communication to the ATU via email varies from 10 to 20 emails a day. I keep track of the emails I send by organizing my email with files for certain issues such as discipline and grievances. This allows me to pull this information if it is needed for the Labor team or the Legal team quickly and efficiently.
Grievance Settlements Calculations (February 2023) - On 2.7.23, Colleen Lorei, manager of Labor Relations asked me to find the grievances that had a settlement agreement and the amount of the settlement. There were 14 grievances and settlement agreements I went through and found the information that was requested of me. I utilized the Grievance One Note, Grievance Tracker and my own emails to find the information requested. I completed this assignment within two hours. I created a list and was able to break down the cost and reason for the settlements for each grievance. I provided my findings via email to Colleen Lorei, manager of Labor Relations.
HR - Handling Orientation and Drug Test for New hires (April 2022- June 2022) - During my start at MV in April of 2022, I worked the front HR Desk at the North Yard. I organized new hire files and ran orientation with the HR Generalist. I collected proper documentation from all new hires and current employees. When I was moved to the South desk, I assisted new employees once they were assigned to the South Yard.
HR Benefits - (April of 2022 - July 2022) - I kept track of the benefits for new hires. All new hire documentation went through me, I then would ensure that the employee received it and understood how to sign up for benefits. I tracked who needed to pick up benefits and the timeline I had. This occurred every month. I created a tracker and had a sign in sheet for employees when they picked up their packets. Once I was moved to the South Yard, I ensured all South employees signed up for their benefits within the timeline. I coordinated with the North HR team to ensure the proper information was passed to the benefits department.
HR Ordering - (June 2022 - October 2022) - I took over the ordering process for this division in June of 2022. I created ordering lists for both South and North Ops. I worked with each department regarding their supply needs to ensure they had the supplies they needed to do their job. I tracked supplies for all admin staff at MV. I also worked with the maintenance departments at both yards to ensure they had the supplies needed for their jobs. I worked with 4 different ordering accounts( ODP, Amazon, Ricoh and Quench). All orders were processed through me. Once I left the HR Team, Shelly Evans took this over. When she took this over, I met with her and went over my process and how I kept it organized. I explained the ordering process via email as well and meetings in person.
