Work History

Special Class Aide/TA

West Milford Board of Education
11.2021 - Current

I started working in the West Milford School District in November 2021. While I was waiting for my Certified Substitute Certificate I took jobs that included Lunch/Recess Aide, then Special Class Aide in the Elementary, Middle & High School. In December 2022 I was offered a long-term substitute position as a Special Class Aide for the Pre-School program in the Elementary School. I was a long-term substitute September 2022 until February 2023 in the High School. I was a one-on-one Aide for a student with disabilities. After the long term position met the 40 day limit I went back to Substitute Teacher for the Middle School and High School. In December 2022 I was offered a permanent position from the Director of Special Services to be a Full-Time Special Class Aide for the ERI (Emotional Regulation Impairment) program in the Middle School. I worked with a variety of students to help them with their schoolwork that the Teacher provided. I escorted them to School Events, implemented their IEP's and provided emotional support. I worked with a Behaviorist that was sent to help the program and learned valuable skills in that time.

In September 2023, the Middle School and High School ERI programs combined at a location in it's own school. I worked with Middle and High School students as a Special Class Aide. I also fulfilled long-term teacher coverage in this same program for Art, Science, Algebra, Earth Science, Chemistry, History, Food & Nutrition and Personal Finance. Each subject coverage was for the maximum 40 days allowed by the district. I switched back and forth as an Aide and Substitute teacher through June 2025.
