  • Reviews electronic medical records to determine exercise precautions and contra-indications prior to patient visit.
  • Delivers guidance and individualized exercise prescriptions to patients recovering from heart attacks, bypass surgery, valve surgery, stent placement, heart failure and heart transplantation. Additional chronic diseases addressed when rebuilding strength, endurance, confidence and overall physical health.
  • Works closely with RN to perform non invasive cardiac testing to include ETT, stress echoes and pharmacological stress tests. EKG interpretation.
  • Collaborates closely with other healthcare providers to develop comprehensive care plans. Ongoing reassessment of patient progress and treatment through the completion of individualized treatment plans.
  • Conducts precise assessments of patient condition and functional abilities. Assesses contraindications and abnormal patient responses to exercise and revises plan accordingly.
  • Develops risk factor modification strategies, counseling plans and nutrition education for cardiac patients.
  • Monitors and documents vital signs, telemetry monitor changes, cardiac arrhythmias, and symptoms before, during and after exercise.
