Araeya Carlson

A figure skater myself, I have been volunteering and teaching learn to skate classes of all ages for close to 3 years. My role consists of evaluating students to match their skill level with appropriate classes, analyzing moves of skaters to explain correct techniques through demonstrations, adjusting techniques to highlight the strengths of each individual student, and communicating with parents and fellow instructors on ways to boost each skaters overall success. Getting to work with students from toddlers to adults has been a great learning experience.

During summers I babysit younger children, specifically those of my neighbors. My role consists of watching and entertaining kids I am looking after, preparing food and sanitizing surfaces after meals, organizing and cleaning the home, and communicating with children and parents to develop personal relationships.
