I would love to be an integral team member of Oregon Birth and Wellness as a Registered Nurse working with birthing families in all stages of pregnancy, birth, and lactation. I had labor and delivery training in 2015 and then focused on other areas of OB, but have wanted to train again in labor and the birthing center is my dream birthing location to work in.
I am a highly experienced registered nurse with a deep passion for maternity and newborn care in every stage with expertise in postpartum, antepartum, and newborn care and lactation. I love the model and mission of birth centers.
I am continually seeking to advance my knowledge and expertise. I am certified in maternal newborn nursing and have my CLC. To reach the highest expertise in lactation, I am on schedule to take the IBCLC test in September.
I absolutely love to take care of families during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. A dream of mine is to work with families in a birthing environment where I can focus all my attention on assisting moms in labor at the bedside to achieve an unmedicated birth, and then to care for them in the immediate postpartum time facilitating initiation of breastfeeding or bottlefeeding.
I think lactation, breastmilk itself and breastfeeding is a natural ,magical and awe inspiring process that has so many benefits for mom, baby, and society. I want to empower moms in their feeding decisions and help them achieve their goals. It is an honor and privilege to be a a part of families' pregnancy and birthing journeys. I enjoy sharing my expertise with my patients and my goal is to make a difference in every contact I have. I never want to quit learning so I can be the best possible nurse to my deserving families.
