I organize events, coordinate guest speakers, and promote general dentistry within Columbia’s student body. I am also responsible for supporting community outreach initiatives and providing leadership to executive board members.
I manage the class budget, track expenses, organize social events, facilitate class scrub sales, and coordinate fundraising events to support student and academic interests.
I am in charge of managing the HSDA student chapter’s budget by tracking expenses and overseeing financial planning. These organized events have included distributing oral hygiene instruction (OHI) bags to local communities, planning a cultural Latin food fundraiser, and a panel featuring former HSDA members to discuss their transition from dental school to residency.
I am responsible for organizing Columbia Dental’s annual spring and fall vendor fair. This entails identifying and communicating with external dental companies so they can showcase their services and products. This event also provides first year dental students the opportunity to receive their loupes from well known vendors such as Orascoptic and Q-Optics.
As a part of the admissions committee, I represent Columbia University College of Dental Medicine during prospective student interview days by presenting during admission sessions. During these sessions I highlight the school’s academic curriculum, clinical training and student life, while also answering any questions applicants may have.
I was responsible for reaching out to students and community members in order to promote our mission and encourage participation in dental related events.
I was responsible for coordinating fundraising events to support community outreach. These organized events allowed the organization to generate funds to meet the chapter’s service efforts.
As a committee member, I supported the fundraising chair by assisting them with their responsibilities.
President and Founder of Fordham University’s pre-dental club. As president I made sure that members of our club had access to pre-dental events at dental schools as well as information about the application cycle and the dental field. I also helped plan dental outreach events within the community.
