Summary
Interning with the wing historian is a great interest of mine. I have a genuine appreciation of history and philosophy as well as a thirst for knowledge. I have continued to practice years after graduating, as I have continued to read and log history and philosophy in my free time. This year I have re-read Baruch Spinoza’s Ethics(my favorite philosophical work), and read works from Camus, Sartre, Hofstadter, and Dostoyevsky.
Practicing and studying history has refined several of my core values; discipline, acceptance of truth and fact, candor, and honesty. One cannot possibly have an adequate conception of self if they are unwilling to accept the facts and truths of the society that houses them. Dedication to the evidence of these truths is an important and noble cause; to tell history Wie es eigentlich gewesen, without bias and in all its honesty.
It would be an honor to continue the task of recording and maintaining history, and to be considered in the selection of this internship. Thank you in advance for your time.
