Highly motivated employee with a desire to take on new challenges.

• Ability to do work without more than normal supervision. At Glacier Bay national park maintenance shop I have been the only one in the shop at times. My supervisor and other staff could depend on me to continue work left waiting for parts. Other task’s operating the loaders moving freight or equipment, or issues occurring same day. One time a vessel lost it turbo and I started working on it til more help could come. I would communicate with my supervisor with text or calls to keep them informed.

• Knowledge of equipment, assembly installation, and repair. I have years of Experience and knowledge from working with older vehicles, heavy machinery to the newest, powered by gasoline, diesel, propane, and electric . I have 13 years at Greens Creek Mine as an underground miner . I understand the importance of finding the problem, looking for hazards to me or the machinery, proper lockout, diagnostics finding what issues are causing the issues, and finishing the repairs. I have been though computer diagnostic training, engine electrical, large or small engine repair . I have proved myself valuable at my last position working in the maintenance shop at Glacier Bay National Park.

• Technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) My attention to detail, focus, and training have made me capable of handling many issues or tasks. For Glacier Bay National Park one of my tasks was to replace a hydraulic motor on a street sweeper attachment for the caterpillar backhoe. One of the problems was the bracket holding the motor on was insufficient and causing damage to the sweeper shaft splines. I designed a new more secure thicker bracket cut the steel out, bolted and welded the bracket to the frame. Mounted the motor on, made new hydraulic hose to attach on the backhoe wrapped them with a protective cover. This saved the shop from having to replace with expensive new attachment.

• Use of measuring instruments. When fabricating and welding I use the speed square and tape measure. This helps me to make specific cuts in round, square, and angle stock. I use pressure gauges to get information for maintaining machinery operation. When ordering parts living in a remote area you need to get specific details on some parts I use a dial caliper, communication with parts companies saves time and money. When setting ring and piñons I use a dial indicator along with torque wrench’s, most gears have a specification to prevent premature failure.

• Ability to read Instructions, specifications, and blueprints. Everything has specifications from the manufacturer. I refer to a manual or online to find an important steps. I have had to this at my last position at Glacier Bay shop working on the marine vessels issues with merc cruiser inboard engine to help with diagnosis for engine power loss. I have also made fiber optic diagrams after building fiber optic infrastructure for the town of Gustavus. For thirteen years at Greens Creek Mine I worked with the geology and the surveyor departments to update underground maps and drilling or blasting plans. We used those maps to stay in line with the ore body.

• Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment. At Greens Creek Mine Mine it was our policy to fill out a preshift inspection card on all vehicles, equipment, or machinery you use in your twelve hour shift. These checks were pass or fail if you could not pass the check it was not moved til fixed. I bring this mentality with me when working in new places I want machinery and tools to last, I want to leave it in good working order for the next person or it might be me having to use it again .

• My knowledge of materials is extensive . I have forged and welded steel to fabricate parts and tools . I know how hot and cold changes different metals. I have welded parts inside of manual transmission to heavy duty rock and gravel screens my welds hold because I know my work and take the time needed to do it right the first time.Other materials I’ve worked with in heavy machinery I enjoy moving rocks, sand, mud, top soil and snow. I have built miles of dirt roads, cleared mud and debris out of haul roads to make it safe to travel on. I pay attention to the materials I’m pushing to separate or as to not damage equipment.
