I was part of the concrete crew for the public works dept. for the City of Dallas. My job consisted of laying and setting out rebar, tying it down, set wooden forms, pour concrete, I wasn't a what's known as a finisher but I would always give a hand with the finishing touches and details. If we weren't pouring we would be breaking off old forms and backfilling, or we would also get called in to set barricades for special events around the city. During the cold harsh weather we would get called in to work so that we could maintain the streets and road sanded to avoid icing.
I started off at Home Depot as a cashier but only a few months in I was given the opportunity to move to a different dept. known as ProDesk which consist of working one on one with contractors, sub-contractors or really any customer that is looking to grow a business. I would create pick-up/delivery orders for the customers and from time to time if we had down time I'd help out in another department if needed.
