Teens Against Drug Abuse (T.A.D.A):
Teens Against Drug Abuse is a non-profit organization I worked for from 8th grade until 12th grade. It teaches the youth who live in bad environments to stay away from drugs and keeps them busy throughout the week. Working for this non-profit organization, I had to work with other kids my age going around different areas to sell snack products to help raise money to take us on trips. Working for T.A.D.A, they taught us all the bad things that come with different types of drugs. Working for this program helped me work on my social skills because I had to talk to so many strangers every day; which helped me be comfortable to talk to just about anyone. Our program became so global in Richmond, Virginia where I grew up that so many people wanted to help us and make donations instead of buying our products to see us having fun and staying out of trouble. This is a program I will never forget because it allowed me to mature at such a young age and helped me become the person I am today.
