While working with students completes the job tasks of a Direct Support Professional which follows below. Trains staff on students’ behavioral plans and assures students supports are being utilized in the classroom. Completes basic cleaning and organization duties. Preps student crafts and activities as well as assures daily living tasks are being met.
While working with students completes the job tasks of a Direct Support Professional which follows below! Assures meaningful and viable programming is being implemented which includes: recreational activities, skill development on treatment plans including proper implementation of all communication, behavioral and domestic training. Trains new staff on students PBSPs and provides feedback. Assigns staff to students; gives frequent positive and constructive feedback as well as writes and delivers DSP evaluations. Completes
a weekly house order to assure students and staff have access to essential items. Completes monthly clothing inventories and assures students have needed items. Puts in purchase order requests for other house items that the students may prefer or the house needs. Completes quarterly meal cancellation forms as well as makes visuals for students and staff. Completes any and all other tasks that may be directed by house manager.
Work directly with students helping to implement Behavior Plans, Individualized Education Programs and Activities for Daily Living such as personal hygiene. DSPs assist students on community outings and help students engage in large and small group activities. DSPs offer emotional support and encouragement to improve their treatment outcomes. They are supportive of any and all of their challenges!
