Throughout my time at IU North on the medical - surgical floor, I took between 5-6 patients on day shift. Some skills throughout this work experience included:

• Administering medications and treatments according to established protocols and patient care plans.
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Collaborated with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient care and ensuring seamless communication between healthcare providers, patient's and patient family members.

• Throughout my time of travel nursing, I worked on medical surgical floors of two different hospitals. I would take 6 patients on night shift as well as day shift. Between the two hospitals, I would float to several different medical surgical floors but majority of my time was spent on more of the medical side vs the surgical. Most of my patients included sepsis requiring IV antibiotics, alcohol withdrawal, dialysis, blood clots requiring heparin drip, management of diabetes, and the occasional post surgery patients. Daily skills included: time management, team work within interdisciplinary teams, and flexibility.

• I worked on the medical PCU at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital. Throughout my time on this unit, I managed mostly cardiac patients. I took 3-4 patients and several times had to flex up to 5. Since the majority of the patient population were cardiac, my responsibilities included managing cardiac drips (heparin, lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, etc.), reading and interpreting telemetry rhythms and then providing treatment based on those interpretations, managing patients post cardiac procedures. Throughout my time on this unit, I also became a charge nurse and would oversee the care of the 24 bed unit.

• On this unit, I cared for 4-5 telemetry patients. Typical patients include post cardiac catheterizations, post pacemaker implantation, patients on cardiac drips and stroke rule out. Daily skills utilized included reading and interpreting telemetry strips, managing and titrating cardiac drips, managing COVID 19 patients, treating infections by utilizing IV antibiotics and monitoring post surgery patients.
