Workers’ Compensation
- Acts as liaison between employees, supervisors, departments, and claims adjusters through the Workers’ Compensation process, following policies and procedures set forth by the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission
- Process and submit Workers’ Compensation claims to the state’s third-party insurance claim adjuster within the required timeline
- Research and collect claim information and reports for third-party claim adjusters
- Work with the ADA Coordinator, if necessary, to interpret laws and regulations, and find solutions to employees’ disabilities as they relate to leave issues and returning to work
- Complete pay rate charts for indemnity claims
- Collaborate regularly with the university’s Environmental Health and Safety department (EHSA)
