
My name is Ashley Gilliam, and I am a registered LPCA in the state of Kentucky, I am currently studying for the NCE so that I can pass and become an LPCC very soon! I am a personable counselor with proven history of improving effectiveness of workplace communication and coordination, as well as a computer-literate professional who adapts quickly to new software and programs. I'm bringing strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in recordkeeping and professional writing. I have had personal experience with domestic violence that I had to overcome as well as PTSD. In my personal life, I am on hand with autism daily, as my son suffers from autism. From March 2015-December 2019 I worked at Cumberland River Behavioral Health as a TRP Aide, which stands for "Therapeutic Rehabilitation Program" and is a day treatment for adults with mild-chronic mental illnesses. I interned at ARC Lydia's House for 3 years in both undergrad and grad programs to better help this specific population. I am a resourceful counseling professional with experience in providing individual and group support to help clients suffering from substance abuse issues, as well as behavioral health issues. I am skilled in developing and implementing treatment plans, conducting assessments and providing referrals to external resources if needed. I am committed to advocating for client rights and helping build positive coping skills. I am known to be a persistent advocate for my clients in order to better help them meet their goals.
