Has a broad knowledge of routing modified diet, combinations of diet modifications and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) dietetics software

• Utilizes dietetic software programs to retrieve diet orders, recipes, and menu and inventory data
• Handles patient meal service orders in person and by phone
• Provides education and information on local facility therapeutic diets to patients, guests, and nursing staff
• Resolves customer and/or patient complaints
• Utilizes knowledge of basic and routine modified diets to identify problems in diet order information and take appropriate corrective action
• Correctly interprets diet activity and patient information, to ensure appropriate food items on meals trays
• Retrieves computerized information to assist with tray and/or nourishment assembly such as standing orders, nourishment labels, tabulated recipe lists, and other simple information to assist in meal delivery
• Completes select and non-select menus as required
• Assist with food selections, ensuring appropriateness of menu selections for complex diets
• Answers the telephone using proper business etiquette
• Communicates with customers in a pleasant, friendly, personable, and professional manner

40Hrs/Week

The support tech functions under the supervision of the registered nurse by serving the unit in two distinct roles according to assignment

• In a priority role, the support tech serves as a mobility assistant and works with the registered nurse to optimize patient mobility using specialized patient-lifting equipment
• In a second capacity, the support tech serves as the unit desk support by managing the nurse call system needs, answering telephones, stocking supplies/equipment, filing and ensuring a clean and uncluttered environment of care
• The support tech provides nursing support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration

40Hrs/Week

Kept building spaces premises clean inside and outside.

• Followed procedures for use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors.
• Responded immediately to calls from personnel to clean up spills and wet floors.
