Performs complex compliance analysis work by monitoring and ensuring compliance of applicable laws, regulations, polices, and procedures governing the operations of the Department. Ensured that families had the necessary documents and requirements met to adopt their prospective child(ren) through CPS. Worked closely with children that were placed in their intended permanent placement, and children that did not have placement. For children that did not have placement, I was responsible for recruiting for them and finding the best home. Worked closely with legal parties, the court system, advocates, foster families, the child-placing unit, and the team.
Managed a team of investigators who investigate cases of alleged abuse and or neglect. Completed administrative tasks, staff cases for direction, close cases, conduct 15-day reviews, 60-day reviews, worked and staffed with legal parties, and held the team accountable for quality casework. Led with integrity.
Investigates reports of child abuse or neglect by creating a partnership between the family and the Department in order to address the issues that led to DFPS involvement. Alternative Response is a family-engagement approach designed to keep children and families safe and together whenever possible. If necessary, removals or safety protocols are taken in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the children.
Site Coordinator (Pre-K-5th grade): I worked at a management level and held staff responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of an afterschool program ranging between 40-75 children with varying ages. Having to work with a team of combined different personalities while leading the program effectively and efficiently. I had to practice and teach vital communication skills in order to achieve the safety and well-being of kids.
Instructional Assistant (Pre-K-5th): I worked with children that need extra support throughout the day in the classroom and ensuring their success in doing so. I had to be flexible and working with multiple people on a team while learning the individual behavior intervention plans for each child. I had to work on building the necessary relationships with children and the team in order to function efficiently.
