  • I mainly only worked nights here, sometimes I would work mornings.
  • If I worked in the mornings, I would mainly be hosting.
  • As a host I would greet people at the door, if they were dining in I would get them their menus & I would go seat them.
  • If they wanted a to go order I would get the order & I would put it in the computer & cash them out, wait for the order to be made, make sure everything is done correctly, bag it up & give it to them.
  • I would cash out the tables, help the servers if they needed it, help clean the tables if there wasn’t a busboy or if it was busy and I would answer the phone for Togo orders and would check them and bag those up as they were made.
  • When I worked nights, I would be a server.
  • I would greet my guests, get the food and drink orders, bring those out as they were ready, make sure they had everything they needed and wanted, made sure their drinks stayed full, made small talk, offer desserts and if they wanted some, I would get that for them.
  • I would help seat the guests at the door, buss tables, help with Togo orders, help answer the phone.
  • At the end of the shift, there’s side work depending on the section but I was usually always in the same one, everyone does silverware, I cleaned ketchup bottles & refilled them unless the bottle was broken then I would get a new bottle, refill sugars, salt and pepper, wipe off the counters, make a backup tea, take the tea stuff to the dishwasher to be washed for the next day, swept the back line, swept & mopped the back room because it was closed.
  • And other duties as needed.
  • I would come in early; stay late; work double shift or cover shifts when needed (if we were busy or someone called out at the last minute).
  • I would also trade days or work their day as well as mine with other teammates and take their shift if they were scheduled and needed to take that day off.
  • Supported needs of [Number]- person wait staff who attended to specific needs of countless customers daily for [Type] restaurant with social relevancy and intentionality.

  • Sometimes I would open and sometimes I would close.
  • If I opened, I would make some sweet and unsweetened tea, put all the batteries in the ziosk tablets that go on the tables in my section, and I would set up the expo line for all of our dressings that we used throughout the day and I would make sure that we had enough backups of the dressings.
  • If I closed, I would just do the opposite of all of that.
  • On a day to day basis, I would greet my guests, take their food and drink orders, bring them their food & drink, made sure they had everything they wanted or needed, made sure their drinks stayed full, helped other people run their food, pre-bussed my tables, rolled silverware, made backup dressings, weighed out sugar for the sweet tea, and I would sweep my section for the day.
  • Sometimes if we didn’t have a host or a busboy I would greet & seat the customers & buss the tables.
  • Occasionally I would come in on my days off when I didn’t have my daughter and help in the back with whatever they needed until my friend got off because I was her ride to & from work so I would just volunteer to stay and help.
