Work History

Warehouse Worker

07.2020 - Current
  • Pick the orders: I am trained in multis where we pick multiple items within a certain order. Also I am trained in our singles department picks multiple orders for the packers to pack.
  • Induct the orders: In this department I was tasked with making the boxes for the customers orders, and placing the labels on the boxes so the orders could be identified. Then Inducting the boxes to a cart so they could be picked. If any of these orders were messed up then I would look more into the order to see if it was canceled or if was attached to a different cart.
  • Pack/Stage the orders: In our singles department I have to pack the orders that may only contain a certain product and make sure that it is not damaged and or missing anything so our consumers will have the best experience. In our staging department I made sure that our boxes look and have all the items that the order calls for.
  • Tape the boxes: Being trained on the tape line lets me help others; by taping the boxes that are sent down the line by our singles and staging department so they're ready to load in the trailers.
  • Pit certified: I am trained in multiple different functions that involve pit equipment in which we use our Order picker, the Double Jack, and the walkie stacker.
  • Problem solve: In this function I use the software "Korber" and go more into the order to see if we have the item/ items in the warehouse and if we don't then why are they damaged or missing. I was also tasked with making sure if any of the team members damaged a item then I had to use our RF scanner and would unpick the items and re-induct them on a cart to be re-picked. Also while using "Korber" I had to search location and check items to see if they went in orders or if they were extras that could be put back to fulfill other orders. I did this to figure out what the issue is and if we can resolve it before it reaches our consumer. I was also tasked with confirming F7's. This consisted of using "Korber", where I would search the location and find out what the item looked like and the quantity at said location. Then I would go to the location with the TM to confirm the item has not been shifted to another rack or any other near by locations. This helped managers be able to focus their efforts towards other tasks they had.
  • Trainer: In which I get to train our new and existing team members in multiple different functions in which I am well versed in such as the docks, singles, staging, induction, multis, replens, and problem solving.
  • SME (subject matter expert): I have been the backup in this case called a SME for multiple different departments such as the docks, induction, staging, and singles. Because I have contributed to achieving team goals with consistent punctuality, reliability, and adherence to established performance standards.

Store Associate

Big Lots
06.2020 - 08.2021
  • Working the register: In doing this I got to talk to all the customers while checking them out and other store associates to make sure that the items that did not have a price got fixed and the customers were happy with their purchases.
  • Stocking the isles: I had to pull pallets to the designated area and open the boxes and stock them in the appropriate area to make sure the price and barcodes matched.
  • Unloading the trucks: I had to unload the trucks with the merchandise we needed for the store. I had to check and make sure everything that was ordered was accounted for. Sometimes these items were over seventy-five pounds.
  • Worked on the store floor talking to customers: During this I had to gather the items that may have drifted from their designated areas and make sure they got back and looked presentable. While doing this I got to talk to the customers, answer their questions, and show them where they may find the items they were looking for.

Warehouse Worker

  • Picked the orders: In this job function I was using a RF scanner and it told me the designated area of the product and I went and retrieved it for the order.
  • Packed the orders: During this I would take the glass bottles if there were any in the order and wrap them and put them in a bag and make sure the items was not shifting.
  • Loaded the trucks: I was making sure the boxes got on the appropriate trailers in a safe and timely manner and made sure that the truck drivers got the paperwork that they needed.
  • Problem solve: If any of the items were damaged I would make sure to clean the box and check that the other items were fine and the damaged or missing item was replaced and or found.
  • Trainer: New employees would come in and I would show them around the warehouse and show them the area that they would be working in. Then show them the tools and the resources they would need to complete their role as safe and effective as they could. Then we would go over how to do what they were tasked to do.
