After spending several years in Portland working for the big sportswear companies my family and I decided to move to the Columbia Gorge. With that change, I began freelancing as a Creative Consultant working with a range of different brands and creative agencies. Helping to create and execute marketing brand concepts for both commercial and editorial. Along with creative consulting, I created my own food and lifestyle brand called Local Haven, that focuses on simple recipes with big flavor that highlight seasonal and local produce. This work has led me to work with publications and brands as a recipe developer. Along with creating a social media following of over 145,000, giving me first hand experience of how to manage and grow in the ever changing world of social media platform marketing.
In my current role as Creative Consultant I work with brands and creative agencies on editorial and commercial campaigns to execute their vision through story telling. I partner closely with senior leadership and creative team, overseeing the overall execution of the images on photoshoots. This work entails the importance of thoughtful planning and organization, the ability to quickly problem solve, communicate clearly, and oversee a team of stylists and photographers.
My services have included working with brands and agencies small and large, from creative directing cookbooks, food styling, prop styling, producing and recipe development. As well as consulting on website re-designs and social media calendars and execution.
During my time as a Creative Consultant I have worked on campaigns for Subaru, Lunchables, Miller Lite, Tillamook, Williams Sonoma, La Victoria, Oscar Mayers, and Salt & Straw. With these clients I was responsible for project planning, communicating with the client and agencies, managing run of show providing clear direction, and the overall creative execution.
During my time at Nike I was the Visual Merchandising Project Coordinator for Nordstrom, Macy's and Dicks Sporting Goods. I supervised multiple projects and executions of store layouts and visual re-designs. I worked closely with the visual design team to create and design the visual merchandising guide per each store, working with third party companies to fulfill the execution of the merchandising direction. With this role I was responsible for tracking third party hours and expenses to keep the project on budget. I maintained spreadsheets with accurate inventory and managed the ordering of new shipments.
During my time at Columbia Sportswear I was the lead stylist for all new store development. This included the opening of several Columbia Sportswear stores, along with the newly acquired Mountain Hardwear and Sorel stores. I solved design problems and implemented visual layouts that would lead to increased sales performance. Worked closely with the marketing team, along with the sales team to create visual merchandising calendars for in-store team execution. Collaborated with outsourced designers for in store needs, including mannequin designs, banner production, and window designers.
