Amazon BFI4
Kent, WA

FC Associate

Job overview

  • I am most familiar in warehouse establishments. I was fortunate to be given the opportunities that I did while at Amazon.
  • I worked in multiple areas daily; but started as a "Stower" exceeding our daily quota allowing thousands of items to be sent to the next department in order to be ready for shipment.
  • I also participated in what is called "water-spidering". I pulled freight and opened pallets that I then put onto belts for it to be stowed into the corresponding robotic shelves.
  • I became familiar with computers, and was given the opportunity to become a "Problem Solver" and "Gate-keeper".
  • With being a Problem Solver and Gate-keeper; it involved labeling and pricing items, along with fixing any technical issues that stowers had at their stations.
  • If their were any products that prevented stowers from processing their items then I would be alerted by a notification on my device to attend to their station and resolve the issue.
  • If there was any broken glass or leaking items, I safely processed the damaged items where I would then sort through them in categories.
  • I mindfully practiced all safety procedures while handling these products.
  • I took record of all items sent to the "Gate-keeping area".
  • If any items were salvageable, I would then clean and repackage the product; decide the new and discounted price for it to be sold at.
  • Trained and mentored new associates on receiving, picking and packing functions and reported progress to supervisor.
  • Scanned incoming products with radio-frequency scanners and entered products into inventory management system for smooth stock tracking and customer order fulfillment.
  • Received merchandise into warehouse, relocated products using forklifts and pallet jacks and processed and shipped orders to customers with speed and precision.
  • Loaded and unloaded trucks, contacted suppliers for estimated arrival time, stocked and organized products to prepare for customer orders and picked and packed orders.
  • Mastered complete production flow to allow effective service anywhere, troubleshot flow or machinery issues and strictly adhered to safety, quality and production standards.
  • Kept assigned work areas clean and orderly to promote efficiency and mitigate risk of accidents.
