Work History

Survival Swim Instructor

Self-employeed
Baton Rouge, LA
06.2017 - Current
  • Teaching children, starting at 5 months old up to 6 years old, how to survive in the water should they find the water alone.
  • Showing children how to rotate into a life-saving, horizontal posture once they feel the water. AIR is the #1 skill that a child's body must learn in order to be successful in the skill of swimming.
  • Swimming successfully for a child PHYSICALLY depends on how HORIZONTAL they keep their body when in the water: face down or face up. This is not a natural response for children, as they navigate the land in the opposite posture, vertically.
  • Re-training through a child's main process of learning, which is sensorimotor, where the sense of feeling becomes how their body reacts immediately, like a reflex, to survive.
  • Built relationships with parents and swimmers to increase likelihood of repeat business in future swim lessons sessions.
