During my participation in the Work, Learn, and Grow Program from November 2021 to March 2022 at PS 306 Elementary School, hosted by the Greater Ridgewood Youth Council, I engaged in vital maintenance tasks essential to the school's daily operations. Sweeping floors, tidying classrooms, and ensuring the cleanliness of tables and chairs became integral aspects of my role. Despite the seemingly mundane nature of these duties, I found profound value in contributing to the upkeep of the school environment, fostering a conducive atmosphere for learning. Working alongside dedicated staff members, I developed a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility toward maintaining a welcoming space for students and educators alike. This experience not only provided practical skills but also instilled a deeper appreciation for the behind-the-scenes efforts necessary to support educational institutions.

• During my tenure at PS 306 Elementary School's summer camp in 2021 as part of the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), I had the delightful opportunity to work closely with kindergarten children. Engaging with these young minds was both rewarding and enriching as I facilitated various educational and recreational activities tailored to their age group. From organizing arts and crafts sessions to leading outdoor games, I witnessed the joy and wonder that filled the children's faces as they explored and learned in a supportive and nurturing environment. Collaborating with fellow camp counselors and educators, I honed my communication and leadership skills while fostering a sense of camaraderie among the staff and campers. This experience not only deepened my passion for working with children but also equipped me with invaluable insights into effective child engagement and development.

During SYEP 2019, I had the privilege of working within the familiar halls of John Adams High School, where I was still a student. Hosted by the Boys and Girls Club, my tasks involved crucial administrative duties like paper shredding, organizing mail, and tidying classrooms. Despite being immersed in routine responsibilities, the experience felt deeply meaningful as I contributed to the smooth functioning of the school community that I was an active part of. Collaborating with both staff members and fellow students participating in SYEP, I not only developed essential organizational skills but also strengthened my sense of responsibility and pride in my school. This opportunity to serve within the walls of my educational institution enriched my high school experience, reinforcing my connection and gratitude towards John Adams High School.
