Hillview Middle School

StarVista's School-Based Counseling Services (SBS) is a program that supports students of San Mateo County by improving aspects of their lives, in hopes of enhancing school performance and increasing engagement in learning.

• Provided myriad of services including crisis intervention, individual and group therapy, family therapy, psycho-education, and classroom presentations.
• Allocated extensive consultation and training with teachers, parents, administration, and other school support staff.
• Conducted standardized assessments and measurements to evaluate the abilities, interests, and characteristics of different students.

Wellness and Recovery Services

Women's Enrichment Center

StarVista's Women's Enrichment Center (WEC) is an IOP program designed for women who are diagnosed with both substance misuse and mental health issues.

• Provided individual therapy, group therapy, and case management, and worked in close liaison with clients' multi-disciplinary team.
• Conducted intakes and assessments: i.e. ASAM Criteria Intake Assessment
• Complete bio-psycho-social assessments and develop treatment and recovery plans.
• Collaboratively work with other clinicians to provide ethically appropriate, theoretically sound, culturally informed, and holistic interventions to address client issues and enhance client strengths.

• Liaison between clients, technicians, and veterinarians to ensure patients are triaged and treated in a systematic order in the emergency department
• Documented patient history from clients
• Trained new employees in my position in proper animal techniques, care standards, operational procedures, and safety protocols
• Collaborate closely with clinical team
• Completed initial vital signs

• Represented the administrative team as the public face of the practice
• Worked closely with the administrative, clinical, and management teams to support practice operations and customer service recovery and intervention efforts
• Provided support to all functions of the administrative and clinical teams including but not limited to: CRM messages, insurance (MediCare, MediCal), telephone encounters, referrals, APeX inbaskets, scanning, filing, authorizations, and billing
• Paid Training Classes included: Fundamentals of Healthcare Insurance, Payor Plan, Scheduling and Registration, POS Payment Collection.

• Developed behavioral intervention plans that promoted memory cognition, and language development skills using hands-on activities for individual students
• Utilized skill-appropriate lesson plans, selected assessments, and positive reinforcement to maximize desired behavior and educational outcomes
• Collaborated with social workers, parents, and other professionals to help students grow in social and emotional capacities.

• Assisted the Bereavement Coordinator in planning, coordinating, and facilitating bereavement groups
• Assessed needs for support and referred to Bereavement Coordinators for additional follow-up as needed and sat in on grief counseling groups and gave feedback
• Supported clients with mental support and physical activities to accomplish quality of life and sustain needs.

• Managed day-to-day activities of 20 Jr. High students and taught coping mechanisms for youth dealing with difficult issues
• Developed and led special events that increased decision-making, problem-solving and good judgment
• Counseled Jr, High students regarding educational issues such as study habits, healthy hobbies, and career planning.
