Summary

I started twirling at age 5 and started competing at age 11. I do not twirl with a studio since there isn't one in my area but I have a private coach that has taught me since I started twirling. My town celebrates their Dutch heritage every year in may and there are parades that I have twirled in since 6th grade. People come from around the world to attend our Tulip Time festival. This has given me great experiences and allows me to share baton twirling with others. I have a passion for baton twirling and a goal to be a collegiate twirler one day. Baton has taught me to be self motivated because most of my practice time is on my own. In baton you have to set goals and this has taught me work towards those goals no matter what. I also have great time management because of all the activities I'm involved in like baton, tennis, band, and school work. I hope to one day own a baton and dance studio so I can share my passion with others and I think this internship would help set me up for that.
