I was assigned to Green Canyon High School for my math practicum. I taught in a Math 2 Resource classroom and my responsibilities included:

• Providing individualized math instruction to students with learning disabilities.
• Developing lesson plans to teach math concepts such as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Coteaching once a week with my practicum partner.
• Utilizing a variety of instructional methods including lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
• Collaborating with my cooperating teacher on curriculum and implementation strategies.

I was assigned to Nibley Elementary for my reading practicum. I taught a reading group for two 5th grade English language learners with IEPs. My responsibilities included:

• Providing individualized reading instruction to students with learning disabilities.
• Managing behaviors through positive reinforcement and verbal praise.
• Assisting with implementation of the students individualized IEP's, monitoring student progress, and collecting daily data.
• Collaborating with my cooperating teacher on curriculum and student progress.

As a paraprofessional I was assigned to a 1st grader with an IEP. I would accompany him in class everyday and my responsibilities included:

• Assisting with implementation of the student's individualized IEP at discretion and direction of teachers and administrators.
• Applying positive reinforcement to redirect negative behaviors.
• Ensuring that all safety regulations were followed in the classroom.
• Helping implement behavior management strategies.

I was assigned to a 2nd grade classroom at Nibley Elementary for my ELED practicum. My responsibilities included:

• Creating an environment that fostered positive learning experiences for second graders.
• Developing lesson plans to teach concepts in math, phonics, science, and social studies.
• Establishing clear expectations for classroom behavior and reinforcing appropriate behavior with positive reinforcement strategies.
• Utilizing instructional materials, such as books, multimedia sources, and manipulatives to enhance student learning.

As a teaching assistant, I worked in a preschool classroom and my responsibilities included:

• Instructing students individually or in groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Creating and coordinating age-appropriate enrichment activities to drive social, emotional and intellectual development.
• Adapting lesson plans and materials to meet the needs of an English language learner in the classroom.
• Leading centers, dramatic play, and teaching whole group lessons.
