My background includes coaching middle school and high school football, serving multiple seasons as the varsity football Hudl gameday operator for my hometown high school, and working as a statistics keeper for a local middle school baseball team. Volunteer Youth Football Coach, Sedro - Woolley Youth Football  (Jul 2019 - Nov 2023)

Youth Assistant Football Coach Responsibilities:

• Player Development: Teach and develop fundamental football skills, techniques, and strategies appropriate  for the players’ age and skill levels. 

 • Mentorship: Foster a positive and encouraging environment to build confidence, teamwork, and  sportsmanship among players.

 • Safety and Well-Being: Monitor player health, hydration, and safety during practices and games, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and protocols.  

• Communication: Serve as a liaison between players, head coach, and parents, ensuring clear and respectful communication regarding team expectations, schedules, and player progress. 

 • Practice Management: Assist in planning and conducting effective practice sessions, focusing on skill  development, conditioning, and preparation for upcoming games.

Offensive Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Offensive Strategy: Develop and implement the team’s offensive philosophy and game plan tailored to the players’ skills and opposing teams’ weaknesses.  

• Playbook Development: Create, organize, and maintain a comprehensive playbook that includes a variety of formations, routes, and schemes designed for youth-level competition. 

 • Game Preparation: Analyze opponent defenses through film study or scouting reports to develop  game-specific offensive strategies and adjustments.  

• Skill Position Coaching: Work closely with quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, and offensive  linemen to ensure alignment with the offensive scheme and play objectives.  

• Player Positioning: Assign and evaluate player roles based on their abilities, ensuring they are placed in  positions where they can succeed and grow.

Offensive Play caller Responsibilities:

• In-Game Adjustments: Call offensive plays during games, adjusting the strategy based on real-time  observations of defensive alignments and game flow.  

• Clock and Tempo Management: Manage the pace of the offense, balancing aggressive play-calling with  clock control to optimize possession and scoring opportunities. 

 • Communication with Coaches: Collaborate with the head coach and other staff to ensure the offensive game plan aligns with the overall team strategy.  

• Player Readiness: Communicate play calls clearly and effectively to the quarterback and ensure all offensive players understand their assignments.  

• Critical Decision-Making: Make quick, strategic decisions during high-pressure situations, such as fourth downs, two-minute drills, or red-zone plays.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Leadership Development: Encourage and empower players to take on leadership roles within the team. 

 • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on modern offensive trends, drills, and schemes to enhance coaching effectiveness.

Pre-Game Responsibilities:

• Equipment Preparation.

 • Ensure all video equipment, including cameras, tripods, batteries, and storage devices, is charged, functional, and packed for both home and away games.  

• Verify that backup equipment is available in case of technical issues. 

 • Coordinate with coaching staff to confirm filming locations, angles, and specific game-day filming needs. 

 • Travel Coordination.  

• Travel with the team to away games, adhering to team schedules and policies. 

 • Assist with equipment setup upon arrival at the venue, ensuring optimal positioning for filming.

In-Game Responsibilities:

• Filming Execution. 

• Operate the camera during games to record high-quality footage of all offensive, defensive, and special teams plays.  

• Follow the game flow closely, ensuring continuous coverage from snap to whistle and capturing wide and  focused angles as required.  

• Adjust camera settings for lighting, weather, or venue-specific conditions to maintain video clarity and consistency.  

• Real-Time Problem-Solving.  

• Address any technical issues promptly to minimize downtime during filming.  

• Communicate with coaching staff regarding any unforeseen disruptions or adjustments.

Post-Game Responsibilities:

• Footage Review & Transfer.

 • Ensure all recorded footage is backed up immediately after the game to prevent data loss.  

• Organize and transfer game files to coaching staff or video analysis platforms (e.g., Hudl) for review.  

• Equipment Maintenance.  

• Inspect and maintain filming equipment, addressing any wear, damage, or malfunctions before the next event.  

• Restock accessories such as batteries, cables, and storage media as needed.

Team Collaboration Responsibilities:

• Coach Communication.  

• Work closely with coaches to understand their specific filming needs, such as capturing key plays, player performances, or positional group dynamics.  

• Provide coaches with immediate access to critical plays or moments if requested during halftime or post-game.  

• Team Integration.

 • Travel and engage with the team in a professional manner, respecting team culture and policies.  

• Act as a valuable part of the team by ensuring the film contributes to player development and game planning.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Stay updated on best practices for sports filming techniques and new technologies to improve the quality of recordings.  

• Analyze previous recordings to refine your filming approach and address any gaps.
